I guess the expression is true, time really does seem to fly by. For this I am partly relieved. In all honesty there are quite a few things that happened in twenty thirteen that I am eager to leave behind. However, as I’ve reflected on this I have realized that the things that I wish I could have changed this year were not in my control, so I am learning to let them go. While there were painful times this past year, there were also lovely moments that I will be forever grateful for. I had the trip of a lifetime that stemmed out of an “internship” to the Cannes Film Festival in the south of France, which unfortunately turned out to be a bit of scam. But God is good. What seemed for a bit like a lost opportunity turned into the best vacation and some of the most cherished memories I have with my parents. I got to see landmarks of Italy that I had only ever dreamed of. I saw some of the most beautiful sights and scenery I have ever seen in my life. This year, I joined my sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, where I met girls that love me unconditionally and really brought me out of my shell. As 2013 comes to a close, I am thankful for my loving family, friends both old and new, and my faith that has brought me through some of the most trying events of my life thus far.
I hope whatever your plans my be for this evening that you have a very happy new year, and that 2014 brings you nothing but good things.
